Interference checks form the next verification step. The path of the moving member must clear nearby pins cooling channels and cavity walls throughout its combined motion. Three dimensional simulation of the full travel path reveals any collisions before steel is cut. Adjusting the starting position or adding a small offset often resolves tight spots without changing the basic angle.

Force balance also requires attention. Injection pressure acting on the forming face tries to push the member backward. A positive locking surface or heel block counters that pressure during filling. The locking angle is set a few degrees steeper than the working angle so that the lock releases cleanly once the mold opens.

After the numbers are set a physical trial with a prototype insert confirms that the part releases without marks or deformation. Measuring the actual lateral clearance achieved and comparing it with the calculated value validates the trigonometry. Small adjustments to the angle or stroke can then be made before final hardening.
